BA (Hons) Film Studies students at the Cardiff School of Creative and Cultural Industries will hold an end of year film symposium between 10:30 – 16:00 on 2nd May in the Zen Room (CB403) at the ATRiuM Campus.

This symposium will explore ideas and arguments surrounding originality in contemporary narrative cinema, in both Hollywood and World Cinema.

Each paper will cover some of the key themes and issues arising from discussions on originality in contemporary cinema.

Throughout the day there will be separate panels dealing with different issues:

  • 11.00 – 12.00: Trans-media Adaptations by Bryn Lloyd and Bethan-Kate Dyer
  • 12.30 – 14.00: Trends in Contemporary French Cinema by Jade-Elizabeth Masters, Katie Livingstone, and George Hughes
  • 14.30 – 15.30: Visual Effects in Hollywood Cinema by Fiona McDougall and Monika Kukolova
